The SCOTS PGC Pipes and Drums is part of our College fabric.
Band members compete each year at various Highland Gatherings and local and Interstate Championships. The Pipes and Drums also play an integral role at College events including the ANZAC Day Commemoration and at civic occasions across the Southern Downs region.
Members range from nine and upwards. College sponsored lessons are available to students who wish to learn either pipes or drums from Year 3. We can also arrange private individual lessons for more advanced players. Band members have an option of sitting locally for examinations in proficiency through to the internationally recognised Piping and Drumming Qualification Board.
The Pipe Band has many solo-competition winners in its ranks in both piping and drumming. The group has featured prominently in Queensland, Australian and International events, including the Scotland Rugby Union test match, the opening of the World Cup Polocrosse, and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo to name a few.
