At SCOTS PGC College, we’re redefining how senior school is done and we’re calling it ‘MyWay’. For us, it’s all about preparing our students for the journey ahead in a way that’s real, relevant and meaningful to them.
From 2025, students in Years 10 to 12 will select one of two tailored programs, UniWay or WorkWay. Both pathways are built on solid foundations and each incorporates existing programs and reflects our deep experience in teaching and learning delivery.
This unique structure enables students to access a more focused experience as they look to pursue further tertiary learning or a direct pathway into industry and the workforce.
MyWay is about being intentional in our educational delivery and working in genuine partnership with universities and industry to enrich the learning experience, and at the same time, collectively nurture the next generation of thinkers, doers, innovators and leaders.
Opting-in that doesn’t mean, opting-out
While neither pathway is new to us, nor education, the defined structure of our program is what makes it unique.
Traditional, long-held educational systems and structures have been primarily designed with academic pathways in mind, and in many settings, vocational education is often delivered as an ‘alternate’ stream.
This often creates challenges with timetabling and opting-in can mean opting-out of other school experiences and participating fully in school life.
MyWay responds directly to these challenges and ensures that regardless of the pathway our students take, they’re able to remain connected with their peers and can continue to engage in the wider SCOTS experience – co-curricular activities, character development, pastoral care and wellbeing support.
Individualised learning
We know all students have different learning styles and that our boys and girls thrive when learning is tailored to their needs. MyWay places us in a position where we can deliver truly individualised learning.
Setting students up for success
While each pathway includes a unique and tailored ‘preparedness’ program, both are about setting our students up for success for the journey ahead, and ultimately, preparing them for a rich and rewarding career pathway.
At the heart of our MyWay program is the belief that all pathways are valuable and valued and regardless of the direction our students follow, pursuing excellence remains the goal.
