We are a co-educational school in a beautiful rural setting on the outskirts of the city of Warwick, with students from Prep to Year 12 and boarders from Years 5 to 12.

Youth Pipe Band Championships

SCOTS PGC College is renowned for its iconic kilted pipe band. Since an initial donation to purchase equipment in 1948 – 75 years ago, the pipe band remains a distinct and iconic part of College life. The SCOTS PGC College Pipes & Drums has made a significant contribution to the culture and heritage of the College and greater Warwick community. The impressive sight of the Cameron of Erracht tartan together with the sound of both the pipes and drums marching on parade has been a constant at festivals, gatherings and memorial services for three quarters of a century. At SCOTS PGC College we encourage our young men and women to learn either the Pipes or Drums and continue this historic College tradition.

As part of our Pipe Band and Drums program SCOTS PGC College in conjunction with Pipe Bands Australia is proud to host the inaugural Australian Solo Piping and Drumming Championships and the Australian Juvenile Pipe Band Championships. The competitions will be the first of its kind across Australia allowing school students to compete on a national stage. The Championships will take place across three days, 28-30 September 2023 in conjunction with the 2023 CelticFest.

The event will commence with focused development opportunities such as workshops and recitals for developing youth Pipe Band organisations and will culminate to showcase Australia’s best pipers and drummers in the Australian Piping and Drumming Solo Championships on Friday 29 September, followed by the Australian Juvenile Pipe Band Championships on Saturday 30 September. The Youth Championships will take place at the College and will conclude with a Mass Band demonstration on Briggs Oval.

In the pursuit of providing a high-quality event, which helps build our program and provides a fabulous experience for our young competitors, we are seeking support from the community through sponsorship or donations.

Your support will help to cover the costs of facilitating the championships, from the provision of facilities, onsite safety and amenities, prizes, official and judge fees.
