Equestrian

Since opening our centre in 2003, boys and girls have come to experience what is known as one of the best school equestrian programs in Australia.

At SCOTS PGC we believe it’s as much about passion as it is skill. That’s why, beyond developing character, sportsmanship, physical strength and discipline, our program nurtures a deep bond between horse and rider.

From dressage, jumping, eventing and polocrosse through to campdrafting, Equestrian sees boys and girls hone their skills as they broaden their knowledge in horse health and care.

On-site facilities mean we can provide a full program in the true sense of the word and you’ll regularly find students walking up to the stables to ride and feed their horses before and after school.

Our program

From beginners to experienced riders, we cater for all.

Regular riding

Boys and girls are encouraged to independently ride once a day, before or after school. Qualified coaches provide supervision and advice to help students improve fundamental riding techniques.

Individual and group lessons

While regular practice builds core skills, individual and group lessons allow our boys and girls to hone them. Students can access training from qualified coaches on the flat or in jumping. Specialist group lessons – with no more than four and no less than two riders – are also available. Lesson costs are dependent on the style and level of coaching required.

Weekend riding

Weekends provide students with an extra day of independent riding with supervision. Students wishing to take advantage of a weekend session can contact the Equestrian Centre on a Friday to arrange a time.

Flexible coaching options

The Warwick region is home to a host of quality coaches. Students, in consultation with the school, can opt to receive training from a coach of their choice at our facility.

Competing

Students have the opportunity to experience individual and team success. With careful guidance, each rider has the ability to choose their own goals and program of competition to suit. Together as a team, they step out to bigger competitions including the Darling Downs Interschool Championships, Percentile Cup, Interschool State Championships and our very own event, the SCOTS PGC Extravaganza. Our students experience great enjoyment and competition success with many going on to become national champions.
