Cattle Club Excel at the Killarney Show

Date: March 3, 2017     Posted by: Clare Cartmill

Co-captain of the Cattle Club, Justin Rohde was asked to be an associate judge for the day at Killarney show in the beef cattle section. He certainly made a very favourable impression on everyone who was watching, through his ability to express his views on the microphone and demonstrate his thorough knowledge of beef cattle at such a young age.  He should be commended for the professional way in which he conducted himself throughout the day.

Other members of the Cattle Club continued their winning ways on the weekend. In her first paraders class ever Thea Diack took out the under 12’s section. Darcy Zammit also did well for his first go ever by taking out 3rd position in the 12-15 years parader.

In the young judges competition honorary cattle club member Stuart Woodside stole the show with a great speech on a line-up of four stud Limousin heifers to take out the under 12 years section. (Well done to Mr Grant and Sheep Club for training him up for us). Thea Diack picked up another ribbon with second in this same class. In the 12-15 years young judges Lily Emmerton and Darcy Zammit came 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the 16- 25 years Briar Densley came 1st and Ronan Hullock came 3rd.

Mr Collett, and the captains Justin and Rebecca are all very proud of how well everyone did on the day and how they conducted themselves.
