Principal’s Welcome

Simon Shepherd was appointed as SCOTS PGC College Principal in early 2014, after a teaching journey spanning two decades, four states and three countries. As Principal of SCOTS PGC College he is working with the College community to improve the educational outcomes of all students in an environment that encourages all students to do their best, think reflectively, develop critical thinking skills, resilience, character and altruism.

Welcome to our website. I hope that it provides you with information about our fine school and an insight into what makes our staff, students and parents so proud.

Almost 100 years ago the founders of SCOTS PGC College deemed a good education to be one of the greatest gifts that can be bestowed on a child. Their goals still hold true today and form the guiding principles of all we aspire to.

Since our foundations we have grown from two small schools to one College with over 450 students. Some 300 students come from the local community and another 150 students make up our strong boarding community.

Our philosophy rests on the belief that a true education encourages young people to question and explore, to develop a strong sense of personal identity, to strive to achieve one’s best, and to value the act of serving without losing one’s desire to lead. As a College, we strive to provide children with an education that will prepare them fully for their future. We believe an education must help students to develop learning skills that are as applicable in the workplace as they are in school.

At SCOTS PGC, we are committed to co-education, to boarding, to our proud history and to the ideals of the Uniting Church.

I look forward to meeting you as part of our community as we work together to ensure our country values inspire excellence in each and every one of the children in our care.

Mr Simon Shepherd
